Girls on the Run St. Louis has a wide array of volunteer opportunities. As a volunteer-based organization, the dedication and support of our volunteers help provide the most rewarding experience for our program participants. No matter the amount of time you want to give or the level of involvement you hope to hold, there is a role for you.
Volunteer coaches work directly with 3rd–8th grade girls to deliver the Girls on the Run and Heart & Sole programs. Coaches lead the girls through fun and active lessons while helping them prepare for the Girls on the Run 5k event at the end of the season. The coaching roles include:
- Site Liaison
- Head Coach
- Assistant Coach
- Junior Coach
- Practice Partner
Girls on the Run St. Louis 5K Race volunteers commit time days before and/or on race day in a role of their choice. Over 300 volunteers are needed for each Spring and Fall 5K race to ensure the best experience for our race and program participants. Whether it be providing packets of information to participants, handing out water to runners as they progress through the race or congratulating the runners as they cross the finish line, your involvement is important in providing a fun and rewarding experience for our program participants.
Throughout the year there are rotating needs for volunteers to help with program prep, survey data entry and other office tasks. These office opportunities are available at your convenience and can fluctuate in time based on the amount of help needed. Your involvement at our office ensures an organized and efficient implementation of our program each season.
