Spotlight on the Kirk Family!

One of my favorite parts about working for Girls on the Run is making meaningful connections with our volunteer coaches. Sometimes, you get really lucky and you make a meaningful connection with an entire family.

I first met the Kirk family at new coaches training. I thought it was so awesome that Kree and Justin were both going to be serving as coaches at their daughter’s school! A couple weeks later, I went to their practice and saw Justin wearing a shirt that said, “GOTR Dad.” The Kirk family had fully embraced GOTR and they brought so much energy to practices, especially Justin who led the “mohawk” energy award at practice that day. I was lucky enough to learn more about the Kirk family throughout the season and I got to see them all at the GOTR 5k (Justin donned a rainbow mohawk wig.) It has been a pleasure to get to know the Kirk family and I am happy to share their story with the rest of our GOTR community!
