Bailey Blake, Program Coordinator introduces our January Volunteer Spotlight:

Kim Elder is a ROCKSTAR volunteer coach at Coverdell Elementary in St. Charles. I had the pleasure of visiting Coverdell in the beginning of my first season with GOTR-STL, Spring 2014. It was their first season too! That visit is one of my all-time favorite GOTR memories. The girls were having a great time and all of the coaches were so positive and upbeat. During that short visit, their entire group taught me a lot about what it means to be a Girl on the Run! They worked hard and had tons of fun doing it. Coverdell Elementary had truly embraced the Girls on the Run program at their school, there were posters up in the hallways that the girls had made during the season, as well as some Lego creations the girls had put together on a rainy day. It’s always nice to know that the school community supports the girls – it makes for a great experience all around. Read more to find out about Kim, what she likes about volunteering with GOTR-STL, and how her experience as a GOTR coach helped her complete her first Ironman!
