Spotlight on Cassie Cusick

Volunteer coaches are the driving force behind the Girls on the Run movement, bringing passion, drive, and commitment to their teams. Our coaches give time and energy to teach girls the values of kindness and gratitude and lessons such as the importance of “plugging in the positive cord”, treating their peers with respect and standing up for themselves and others. Many coaches say they benefit as much from their experience with the Girls on the Run program as the girls do. This has been the case for Woerther Elementary Coach Cassie Cusick. Since joining Girls on the Run, she has developed a newfound love of running and has learned to challenge herself to be at her best. Cassie first got involved through her daughter who participated in the program last year-they ran our chilly fall 2014 race together! She was inspired to coach and has had a great first season at Woerther Elementary! Her team was recently featured on Fox 2. We are so grateful for Cassie's support of her team at Woerther and for a being a champion of Girls on the Run St. Louis in the community!
