Kristin Clark Volunteer Spotlight

Kristin Clark, a superstar coach, Team Adelaide volunteer, SoleMate, and Boston Marathon runner, has been involved with Girls on the Run for 10 years! This April, she will be running the Boston Marathon as part of an all teacher team sponsored by Hylands, the official Leg Cramp sponsor of the marathon. The team consists of 17 teachers from across the country, and Kristin was chosen out of 1600 applicants. Read on to get to know her and her involvement with Girls on the Run - St. Louis!

ST. LOUIS (March 8, 2018) – Veteran teacher Jennifer Carcagno, and enthusiastic volunteer Brad Eastman, will be recognized with Energy Awards, the highest honor given by Girls on the Run St. Louis. A third Energy Award will be presented to Emerson. The awards will be presented at the 5th annual Power of One Gala on April 12 at Lumen, 2201 Locust Street in St. Louis.

Did you know that Girls on the Run St. Louis is part of the Youth Opportunities Program (YOP), administered by the Missouri Department of Economic Development? The program provides tax credits to individuals or organizations administering positive youth development projects, like Girls on the Run.

When I first learned about Girls on the Run during my undergraduate years, I thought it was just a running program that I would never really be a part of -- after all running really isn’t my strength. Little did I know that just a few years later GOTR-STL would be a huge part of my life and education.
