Youth Opportunity Program (YOP) Tax Credit Information

The Missouri Department of Economic Development awards Youth Opportunity Program (YOP) tax credits to qualified organizations that broaden and strengthen opportunities for positive youth development. As a YOP approved organization, Girls on the Run St. Louis is happy to provide these tax benefits to our financial supporters. All individuals, LLCs, partnerships, banks or corporations with Missouri tax liability that contribute at least $1,000 or more to GOTR-STL will receive a 50% state tax credit. Please note that tax credits are on a first come basis.
YOP contributions are used to fund our Adopt-a-School program, enabling Missouri program participants in identified, underserved areas to participate in the Girls on the Run program through need-based scholarships as well as underwriting program costs. Approximately 80% of our girls are on some form of scholarship - it is our philosophy to never turn a girl away due to financial need.
