Girls on the Run St. Louis has two opportunities for young professionals to support the Girls on the Run mission and core values, in addition to coaching and other volunteer roles. Both the Young Friends Group and Young Professionals Board understand and believe in the impact of the Girls on the Run program and the importance of healthy living in the lives of our future female leaders.
We ask that potential new members join and participate in the Young Friends Group first, before advancing to the Board. We invite you to learn more about this process by contacting Emilee Hargis, VP of Membership, at elhargis@gmail.com.
*Our board is still very much active and supporting our Girls on the Run during the COVID-19 pandemic. Check out our
2020 year in review!

Young Friends Group
The Young Friends Group (YFG) offers opportunities requiring less of a time and financial commitment than board membership. The Young Friends Group is committed to supporting Girls on the Run participants and families through engagement with Girls on the Run events (fall and spring 5ks, annual Gala) and YPB events (two events per year). While there are no monthly meetings, YFG members are encouraged to attend monthly happy hours, hosted by the Young Professionals Board, as well.
Young Professionals Board
The Young Professionals Board (YPB) aims to both increase awareness of Girls on the Run St. Louis, and raise money for its scholarship fund. In collaboration with staff and the Board of Directors, we participate in a variety of strategic and fundraising initiatives in order to sustain and deepen the mission and impact of Girls on the Run in our community. We host two signature events each year (Trivia Night in January and Topgolf Tournament in June), and participate in the Girls on the Run annual Gala and both the fall and spring 5k events. We meet once a month and members have an annual financial commitment of $250.
