Saint Louis University women’s basketball coach Lisa Stone today was named the honorary race chair for the Girls on the Run 5k race on Saturday, May 7, starting at Soldiers' Memorial in downtown St. Louis.

Outdoor Activity in Winter!

As you know, the weather in St. Louis can be pretty unpredictable and it's always exciting to get those surprise warm days in the middle of winter! We wanted to share a fun outdoor activity in Forest Park! In the fall, GOTRSTL staff had a fun day of teambuilding. We ran all around Forest Park on a scavenger hunt and did Friend-Building Challenges, Physical Challenges and Good Deeds. The scavenger hunt clues are below and they are separated into areas of the park.

Today, we explore a day in the life of Sue Harrison, one of our dedicated volunteers! Sue has helped us out in the office by reviewing curriculum and other tasks, served on fundraising committees and she is a Girls on the Run coach! Sue worked about 45 years in the finance industry and is now enjoying retirement!

Rachel's First Half Marathon

A few months ago, our fearless Rachel quietly embarked on a solo trip to San Francisco. Little did we know that she was planning to run her first half marathon (the Nike Women's Half Marathon) during her stay in the City by the Bay! Rachel had stealthily trained for the half marathon and left her race plans out of discussions about her trip. Today, Rachel gives us a glimpse at her inner dialogue before during and after her half marathon.

It’s hard to face the weather in St. Louis. Often too hot, too cold, too humid, or too windy. Sometimes all in one day! And it is hard to stay motivated to run outside, run inside, or be active at all during the end-of-year holiday season. When I heard about the Runners World/Charity Miles #RWRunStreak challenge, I was intrigued.
