Claire Brown, Program Coordinator, joined the GOTR-STL team in June 2015. Originally from Petersburg, Illinois, Claire started running cross country and track in middle school and upon graduating high school, signed to run cross country and track for Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville. Her main events were the 5k and the 3,000-meter steeplechase, for which she currently holds the school record. As a student-athlete, Claire pursued and received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science. In the Fall of 2014 she completed an internship at GOTR-STL, served as a head coach for the East Alton Girls on Track team, and ran as a SoleMate in her very first marathon. She currently resides in Edwardsville, Illinois, where she enjoys running with her sister and competes as a member of RunWell’s racing team. Claire is so excited to be back with the GOTR-St. Louis team and can’t wait to have a hand in empowering girls for a lifetime of healthy living!
What is your favorite GOTR moment?
Experiencing my first Girls on the Run 5k in the Fall of 2014. Running amongst thousands of young girls, coaches, and running buddies who were encouraging one another until everyone crosses the finish line was so amazing.
