Annie O'Brien, Operations Director, joined the Girls on the Run St. Louis team in July 2017. She grew up in St. Louis and has a BS in Communications with a minor in Business from Washington University in St. Louis. Annie has a background in marketing, business analysis, operations and administration management as well as organizational and strategic planning. She has served as a coach, program parent, SoleMate, National Anthem singer at our 5ks and advocate for the organization for nearly 10 years! Annie is inspired by the ripple effect of the program that spans the coaches, families, schools, and communities. When a girl discovers her unique capabilities and strengths, it has a lasting impression. Not just on the girls, but also on those that witness this development firsthand.
Annie lives in South City with her husband, Darren, their two children - Dylan and Hannah (6 year GOTR alumna!), and their dog, Libby. She loves to hike, bike, and camp...and, after completing her sixth half marathon, Annie finally thinks of herself as a runner! She loves the self confidence and life lessons one can learn through running and feels an incredible sense of gratitude for the positivity and support of the running community.
